Robert Allen Palmer (19 January 1949 – 26 September 2003), born in Batley, Yorkshire, was an English singer-songwriter.
he moved to Malta when he was less than a year old as his father was based in Valetta, the capital, in the Navy. He was 10 when they moved back to the UK and he was raised in Scarborough.
He was known for his soulful voice and the eclectic mix of musical styles on his albums, combining soul, jazz, rock, pop and blues.
Palmer was most famous for the 1986 US #1 'Addicted to Love'.
